3a. Marketing communications
If you agree to it, we may contact you by email, text message or phone about our products and services.
We will only send you electronic marketing where you have consented, or where you are an existing customer and we are marketing similar products (sometimes called the "soft opt-in"). You gave us the choice to opt out when we collected your details, and every marketing message we send will include a simple way to opt out.
You can stop marketing at any time — click the unsubscribe link in any email, reply STOP to any text, or email us at dpo@homecredit-ltd.co.uk. Opting out of marketing will never affect your loan, your account, or the service you receive from us.
4. Credit reference and fraud-prevention agencies
To assess your application and manage your account, we may search and share information with credit reference agencies (CRAs) such as Experian, Equifax and TransUnion, and with fraud-prevention agencies. These searches may be recorded on your credit file and seen by other lenders. The CRAs provide their own privacy information (often called a Credit Reference Agency Information Notice, or CRAIN), which explains how they use your data.
5. Who we share your data with
- Credit reference and fraud-prevention agencies.
- Service providers who help us run our business (for example IT, payments and collections), under strict confidentiality terms.
- Trusted credit brokers, where you ask us to explore other options and we introduce you.
- Regulators, law enforcement and other authorities where we are required to by law.
6. Sending data outside the UK
We aim to keep your data within the UK. If any data is transferred outside the UK, we will make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses, as required by UK GDPR.
7. How long we keep your data
We keep your personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes we collected it, including to meet legal, regulatory, accounting and reporting requirements. In practice, we typically retain customer records for six years after your relationship with us ends, unless a longer period is required by law. You can ask us not to use your data to offer you other products at any time.
